About Essex Food & Drink Horsebox

Our Unique Offering

Essex Food & Drink horsebox was started in 2024 by two friends, Ben and Neil, who wanted to created "Betsy" from a 1991 horse trailer. Betsy was professionally converted to a bespoke design to provide the flexibility to support your unique events - whether it's a wedding, party, or community event. We can deliver a fully licensed bar and are happy to discuss your further individual requirements, including food and music. Ben and Neil are both enhanced DBS certificate holders, Ben has a personal alcohol license, and Betsy has a five star hygiene rating.

Hire Types

All packages are subject to mutual agreement.

Jockey Dry Hire

£395

This allows the use of the horse box, two staff members, and you supply your own drinks. Hire is for a five hour 'active' period of your choice, plus set up and clear down. Additional hours are available at £50 per hour.

The Classic

£895

This package is suitable for 40-50 guests and includes 180 glasses of Prosecco, mixers and a pail of 30 soft drinks, plus the same as the 'jockey dry hire'.

The Derby

£1350

This package is suitable for 50-75 guests and includes 180 glasses of Prosecco, 180 bottles/cans of Cider or Beer, mixers and soft drinks, plus the same as the 'jockey dry hire'.

The Guineas

£1995

This package is suitable for 75-100 guests and includes 180 glasses of Prosecco, 180 glasses of Rose Prosecco, 360 bottles/cans of Cider or Beer, mixers and soft drinks, plus the same as the 'jockey dry hire'.

The Flat

£250 + refundable deposit

This package is for us to attend your venue/event and provide a cash bar for your guests/attendees. We can discuss a range of drink options that can be provided (terms and conditions on request).

Bespoke packages

£TBC

The Maiden Race is bespoke to your individual requirements to include hot and cold food, soft drinks, etc., or an alternative alcohol package and will allow us to create a unique package for your event.

All packages are subject to a 50% non-refundable fee on confirmation of booking at least 28 days prior to the event and the remaining fee payable prior to event commencing.

We cover Essex and surrounding counties to provide you with a unique event experience. We have covered small music festivals, school fetes, and historic events with a range of drink and food packages. Established in 2024, the journey continues, and we look forward to meeting you.
